Compounds: PTFE

Description: It is a smooth plastic material and it canresist to high temperatures (up to 200°C and over), used in the industry to cover surfaces subjected to high temperatures and for surfaces where we do not need  need adherence and a good chemical inactivity. For example, the frying pans are covered inside with PTFE (Teflon).
Temperature of exercise: between the -39°C and the 200°C

Hardness: between the 40 and the 85 SHs

Chemical resistance: resistant to the fire, good electric qualities, chemical agents and water.

Fields of application: In the chemical industry is used for the realization of gaskets and parts destined to contact corrosive agents (for example concentrated sulphuric acid), is also used in the motors, to reduce the attrition cylinder-piston; a film of teflon in the chemical laboratories is used for guaranteeing the airtigh sealing of polished glass joints, without the risk to incur in the possible difficult part separation; in the electric industry it is a good insulating material.
